An Extended Silence

Morning Worship

San Francisco Theological Seminary

Tuesday, March 6, 2007

Montgomery Chapel

Welcome

Call To Worship

Let us worship God, our light and our salvation.

The Lord is the stronghold of our lives.

We desire to live in God’s house

and to seek God in God’s holy temple.

We have come with shouts of joy,

to sing and to make music to the Lord.

Let us worship God in spirit and in truth.

Teach us your ways and make straight our paths

during this time of worship and always.

Let us worship God!

Songs

Surely God is in this place

Surely God is in this place, holy ground;

Surely God is in this place, holy ground.

Bless the Lord, My Soul

Bless the Lord, my soul, and bless God’s holy name.

Bless the Lord, my soul, who leads me into life.

Scripture Reading Psalm 34: 1-10

I will bless the Lord at all times; the Lord’s praise shall continually be in my mouth.

My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad.

O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt the Lord’s name together.

I sought the Lord, and the Lord answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.

Look to the Lord, and be radiant; so your faces shall never be ashamed.

This poor soul cried, and was heard by the Lord, and was saved from every trouble.

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear the Lord, and delivers them.

O taste and see that the Lord is good; happy are those who take refuge in the Lord.

O fear the Lord, you the Lord’s holy ones, for those who fear the Lord have no want.

The young lions suffer want and hunger, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
