Welcome

Prelude

*Call to Worship (based on Psalm 150)

Praise the Lord!

Praise God in the sanctuary;

Praise God in the mighty heavens.

Praise God for acts of power;

Praise God for surpassing greatness.

Praise God with the sounding of the trumpet,

Praise God with the harp and lyre,

Praise God with tambourine and dancing.

Praise God with the strings and flute,

Praise God with the clash of cymbals,

Yes! Praise God with the resounding clash of cymbals.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

That we may be God’s thanksgiving people.

PRAISE THE LORD!

*Hymn We Gather Together PH559

Call to Confession

Prayer of Confession

Gracious Giver, Fountain of all blessings, too often we come into your courts with a complaint on our lips. We are quick to be envious and slow to be grateful. We act as though the good things we have we achieved by ourself, and the bad things we endure we blame others for. We are so wrapped up in our own suffering that we can’t see the suffering those around us, and so wrapped up in our pleasures that we forget to thank you for giving us everything, even yourself. Remove from our hearts the dark cloud of pessimism and negativity. Plant in our souls deep joy rooted in gratitude. Makes us your thanksgiving people after the image of your son, our savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon

God is the eternally bountiful harvest. Before we were aware of our needs God provided for them. Before we called God’s name, we were heard. Before we confessed our sins, we were forgiven.

Thanks be to God.

*Passing the Peace

Since God is ever gracious let us be gracious to one another. In thanksgiving to our generous creator offer the peace of Christ to your neighbors.

The Peace of Christ be with you all.

And also with you.
