Morning Service
Stewart Chapel
Welcome
*Call to Worship and Lighting the First Advent Candle
The Sun will no more be your light by day,
Nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you,
For the LORD will be our everlasting light,
And our God will be our Glory.
Your sun will never set again,
And your moon will wane no more;
The LORD will be our everlasting light,
And our days of sorrow will end.
We light this candle as a symbol of Christ our Hope.
May the light sent from God shine in the darkness to show us the way of salvation. O come, O come, Emmanuel. (Isaiah 60:2-3)

Canticle Magnificat & O Come, O Come Emmanuel
Magnificat
Antiphon
O come, o come, Emmanuel, and ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here until the Son of God appear.
Refrain: Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee, O
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Savior;
For he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
O come, thou Wisdom from on high, who orderest all things mightily;
To us the path of knowledge show, and teach us in her ways to go. (Refrain)
From this day all generations will call me blessed;
The Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his Name.
O come, o come, thou Lord of might, who to thy tribes on Sinai’s height
In ancient times didst give the law, in cloud, and majesty, and awe. (Refrain)
He has mercy on those who fear him in every generation.
O come, thou branch of Jesse’s tree, free them from Satan’s tyranny
That trust thy mighty power to save, and give them victory o’er the grave. (Refrain)
He has shown the strength of his arm, he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
O come, thou key of David, come, and open wide our heavenly home;
Make safe the way that leads on high, and close the path to misery. (Refrain)
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones, and has lifted up the lowly.
O come, thou Dayspring from on high, and cheer us by thy drawing nigh;
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night, and death’s dark shadow put to flight.
He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty.
O come, Desire of nations, bind in one the hearts of all mankind;
Bid thou our sad divisions cease, and be thyself our King of Peace .(Refrain)
He has come to the help of his servant
The promise he made to our fathers, to Abraham and his children forever.
O Come, o come, Emmanuel, and ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here until the Son of God appear. (Refrain)
