Welcome

Call To Worship

In Christ, the God of heaven has made a home on earth.

Christ dwells among us and is one with us.

Highest of all creation, he lives among the least.

He journeys with the rejected and welcomes the weary.

Come now, all who thirst,

And drink the water of life.

Come now, all who hunger,

and be filled with good things.

Come now, all who seek,

and be warmed by the fire of love.

Hymn PH 479 Praise my Soul, the God of Heaven

Call to Confession

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith, let us confess our sin to God.

Prayer of Confession

We confess, O Creator God, that we have abused your gifts through arrogance, ignorance, and greed. We risk permanent damage to your handiwork. We impoverish creation’s ability to praise you as we simultaneously take needed resources from our brothers and sisters. We silence the voices of our fellow creatures, as they too give you praise and adoration. We confess, Redeeming God, that we are often unaware of how deeply we have hurt you, each other, and your creation, which you declared good. In sorrow for what we have done, we offer our repentance. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon

Hear the Good news! Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us. Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun. Know that we are forgiven and be at peace.
