Morning Worship
Stewart Memorial Chapel
Prelude
Welcome
*Call to Worship
God calls us, God calls us in the morning.
God calls us all by name.
God calls us, God calls us in time of trouble.
God calls us all by name.
God calls us, God calls us all to live together, worship together, and be in community with all the people of the world.
God calls us all by name and God calls us to worship God now!
*Hymn #285 God, You Spin the Whirling Planets
Prayer of Confession
Holy and loving Creator, please forgive our ignorance. We confess that our arrogance gets in the way of worshipping you. We admit to taking this prayer as a checklist and ignoring it if we think it does not apply to our lives. And we acknowledge that often our head gets in the way of our hearts. Forgive our blindness Lord. Forgive our conscious and unconscious thoughts and actions that drive people away. Forgive us when those same thoughts or actions keep us from helping others. Help us Holy Parent, saving Christ, and soothing Spirit. Help us to see our own errors and admit them to you and to the world you have created. Help us God, help us.
Assurance of Pardon
In the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, we are assured that there is no sin so terrible that God cannot forgive, no hurt so terrible that God cannot heal. God accepts, God forgives, and God sets free. Receive the forgiving love of God.
Thanks be to God!
*Passing of the Peace
Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us forgive one another.
The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
And also with you.
