Prelude My Heart is Ever Yearning J Brahms

Welcome

*call to worship

The Lord Jesus who calls us to worship today is the same Jesus who refused

the temptation to worship the evil one.

Rather than receive the glorious kingdoms of this world, he endured the

shame of the cross, and today is Lord of Lords and King of Kings.

Now are gathered in him all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, glory and

power.

Let us now worship our glorious Lord!

*Hymn PH #143 All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name

Call to Confession

Prayer of Confession:

Merciful God, we confess that we have, at times, been weak and lacked courage and have not stood up for what was right and spoken your truths when it might have made a difference. Nor have we proclaimed and lived your Word with power and authority as Jesus did. We confess that we have often prayed for our neighbor but passed by on the other side when they were in need. Forgive us, O God, and help us through your grace, to live into the fullness of Christ, in whom are the spiritual treasures of wisdom, courage and love. We pray in Jesus Name. Amen

-Based on Colossians2: 2-5 and II Timothy1: 7

Assurance Of Pardon

God the Creator brings you new life, forgives and redeems you. Take hold of this forgiveness, and live your life in the Spirit of Jesus. Amen.

*Passing Of The Peace

Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us forgive one another.

The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

And also with you.

Affirmation Of Faith

In life and in death we belong to God. Through the grace of our Lord Jesus

Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, we trust in the one triune God, the Holy One of Israel, whom alone we worship and serve.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. AMEN
